Great water filter system and easy to use  
I stood in WalMart for a good 1/2 hour before I decided. I hadnt read any reviews but decided on the Dupont because of more brand loyalty. Im glad I did the water tastes awesome and I havent had any leakage problems and have had it for at least a month. I have been also reading about the plastic bottle situation causing cancer and the quality of the water coming out of these bottles which maybe questionable. So Im thinking if my assumption is correct the filtration from the Dupont is as good if not better than what the water bottle factories are doing. The rumors or facts are so many I just decided to do something different. Im sick of buying water bottles every week and in doing something different I can help slow the adding to the trash heap of garbage in the long term. This is another great way to go green if you are concerned about the environment.

Great filter!  
Our public water has notoriously distinctive chemical smells & taste from the treatment facility. This filter totally removes the problem. Never had the filtered output tested at a lab but Id be surprised if theres much bad stuff left in there after being filtered.

My only complaint is very minor its almost painfully slow. We have about 2.5gpm flow on our unfiltered faucet and about 0.2gpm when filtered however the water is so much better tasting its worth the wait and still worth a 5 star rating.

Sure do wish they had an in-line version for my freezers icemaker.

We still love these filters but I have two things to add to this review.

1) The 100 gallon filters have a much higher GPM capacity than the 200 gallon filters. I have not formally compared the two but I would have to estimate that the 100 gallon filters put out about twice the GPM as the 200 gallon filters.

Good filtration hard to secure  
I am plesaed with the filter - it is substantial (unlike prior Britta units that Ive owned) and the water tastes great. However I have had a hard time securing the unit so that it doesnt leak when the filter is turned on. I dont know why this is the case but wish there were a faucet filtration system out there that didnt leak. : 2010-09-16 04:00:58

DuPont Water Filter is a challenge but is OK  
My previous review was wiped out.
Why bother reviewing an item when Amazons Servers eliminate my wisdom?
Anyway I researched and compared carefully before buying this Unit.
Some Points:
1) The Instruction Manual was written by an idiot. The instructions are confusing incomplete backwards and incorrect.
2) I am a very good plumber and it took over 2 hours to install this Unit. Leak and seal problems. Finally I threw out the manual and installed it my way. All is tight and secure.
3) After the device was installed and I installed the filter the blue electronic display did not work. Oh Joy. So I troubleshot the electronics. I unscrewed the front of the housing where the electronic display is reinstalled it and then removed and reinstalled the filter. Then the Blue Light displayed. Incredible. The display flashed 5 times. Then I turned on the filtration and got the FlH display. Cool. It takes about 5 minutes to Flush and Activate the Unit. You can peri : 2010-09-16 04:00:58

Too slow  
It filters water at about 5 and a half minutes per gallon that is very slow in my opinion. Now the filter is at 85 gallons already and it has slowed down tremendously to an also drip rate. Now it is about 10 minutes per gallon! That is ridiculous. On a more positive note the water tastes good. : 2010-09-16 04:00:58
